Ajwain & Jaggery Sip

A quarter teaspoon of ajwain is boiled briefly in a cup of water with a small piece of jaggery, strained and sipped warm after a heavy meal.

Safety essentials

Jaggery is sugar, so skip this if you are managing blood glucose. Severe or worsening abdominal pain needs medical assessment.

  • People with liver conditions

  • Diabetes medicines

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Avoid medicinal amounts of ajwain in pregnancy.

Children: Not recommended in this strength for children.

  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Black or bloody stools
  • Fever with abdominal pain
