Brahmi Ghrita is a classical medicated ghee, prepared by processing brahmi and supporting herbs into ghee by a specified cooking method. It is not plain brahmi, and it is not the ghee used in cooking: the preparation itself is what defines it. Its exact composition varies with the classical reference followed and with the manufacturer, and it is intended for practitioner-guided use.

What to know before use

Use only under a qualified practitioner, who decides whether it is appropriate at all. It is not a treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, epilepsy or any diagnosed condition, and prescribed medicines and therapy must never be reduced or replaced because of it. Not suitable for anyone with a dairy allergy.

Important cautions

Practitioner guidance required. This is a medicated formulation, not the plain ghee used in cooking, and no self-use amounts are given here. It is not a treatment for any mental-health condition, and prescribed care should never be stopped or replaced.

Who should avoid it

  • Anyone treating it as ordinary culinary ghee
  • People with a diagnosed mental-health or neurological condition, without medical care
  • People with dairy allergy
  • People advised to limit fats, without guidance

Medicine interactions

  • Discuss with your doctor if you take psychiatric, sedative or seizure medicines

PregnancyUse only under qualified practitioner guidance.

Quality and buying guidance

Check which classical reference the product states, since formulas differ, and confirm the full ingredient list, the Ayurvedic manufacturing licence, batch number and expiry date. It should be a genuine ghee base, not a vegetable-fat substitute. Buy only from an established manufacturer, and avoid products carrying mental-health or child-development claims.

Evidence note

This is used mainly within qualified practitioner practice and classical formulations. Self-directed use is not appropriate, and evidence outside traditional texts is limited.

Traditional wellness information only — not medical advice. Start small, and check with a qualified practitioner if you are pregnant, nursing, treating a child, or managing a medical condition.
