Almond & Milk Ubtan

A traditional paste of almond flour, turmeric and milk used as a gentle cleanser.

Also known as: Badam ubtan, Ubtan cleanse, Almond milk ubtan

Overview

A classical pre-bath cleansing paste. A tablespoon of almond flour is mixed with a small pinch of turmeric and enough milk to form a paste, applied, left for ten minutes, then rinsed with cool water while rubbing gently.

Minimum age: 144 months.

Safety essentials

Patch test first if you have any nut allergy in the family. Rub very gently — vigorous scrubbing damages the skin barrier. Turmeric can stain temporarily.

Who should avoid it

  • Anyone with a nut or dairy allergy
  • People with active acne that is painful or inflamed
  • People with very sensitive or broken skin

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: External use is generally customary in pregnancy.

Children: Use only under supervision for teens; not needed for young children.

Stop and seek medical care if

  • Itching, swelling or hives
  • Burning during application
  • Skin that becomes raw
