Teeth & Oral Beauty

Oil pulling, herbal rinses, and tongue care from the Ayurvedic tradition.

Daily oral rituals support fresh breath, healthy gums, and a brighter smile. These complement — never replace — brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups.

Patch test first. Always do a 24-hour patch test on the inner forearm before applying anything new to the face, scalp, or sensitive skin.

Sesame Oil (for Oil Pulling)

Traditional 'gandusha' practice; supports gum health and fresh breath.

How to use

On an empty stomach, swish 1 tbsp cold-pressed sesame oil gently for 5–10 minutes. Spit into a tissue (not the sink), rinse with warm water, brush as usual.

Who should avoid

Children under 5, anyone who may swallow the oil, sesame allergy.

Neem

Antibacterial; traditionally used as a 'datun' twig for cleaner teeth and gums.

How to use

Use a soft neem-based toothpaste, or rinse with cooled neem-leaf water 2–3× a week.

Who should avoid

Pregnancy in large amounts; not for young children.

Clove (Laung)

Soothes mild gum soreness and freshens breath.

How to use

Steep 1 crushed clove in 1 cup warm water with ¼ tsp salt; swish for 30 seconds, spit.

Turmeric

Calms inflamed gums.

How to use

Mix a pinch of turmeric with ½ tsp mustard or coconut oil; rub on gums for 1 minute, rinse well.

Polyphenols support gum and breath freshness.

How to use

Use cooled, unsweetened green tea as a 30-second mouth rinse after meals.

Who should avoid

Late evening (caffeine), or if very sensitive to tannins.
