Mix-and-match recipes that use ingredients already in most Indian kitchens. Start with one a week and build from there.

Turmeric + Gram Flour Brightening Pack

The classic ubtan — gently brightens and exfoliates.

How to use

1 tbsp besan + ¼ tsp turmeric + 1 tsp curd + splash of milk. Apply 10–12 minutes, rinse with cool water.

Who should avoid

Very dry or broken skin; sensitive skin should test first.

Honey + Rose Water Hydrating Mask

Restores moisture and gives a calm, plumped finish.

How to use

1 tsp raw honey + 1 tsp rose water. Smooth on clean skin for 10 minutes, rinse.

Bee or pollen allergy.

Oats + Milk Soothing Cleanse

Gentle daily cleanser for sensitive, irritated, or sun-tired skin.

How to use

1 tbsp ground oats + 2 tbsp cold milk. Massage onto damp skin in small circles, rinse.

Who should avoid

Dairy allergy — swap milk for oat milk.

Coffee + Coconut Body Scrub

Wakes up dull body skin and boosts circulation.

How to use

3 tbsp used coffee grounds + 2 tbsp coconut oil + 1 tsp brown sugar. Massage in damp skin in circles, rinse.

Who should avoid

Broken skin, sunburn, freshly shaved areas.

Aloe + Cucumber Cooling Gel

An after-sun cooling gel for face and body.

How to use

2 tbsp fresh aloe gel + 2 tbsp grated cucumber pulp. Refrigerate; apply for 10 minutes, rinse.

Who should avoid

Latex sensitivity — rinse the yellow sap off the aloe leaf first.

Fenugreek + Curd Hair Mask

Calms an itchy scalp and adds softness.

How to use

Soak 2 tbsp methi seeds overnight, blend with 3 tbsp curd, apply to scalp and lengths for 30 minutes, shampoo out.

Dairy allergy — swap curd for coconut milk.
